Craigslist for Guns?
Is there a community where you can make classified posts for a specific region like craigslist? I am looking to buy a gun but there are no gun shows in my region an I'm on a low budget so I'm looking for used.

Re: Craigslist for Guns?
You could always check out GunBroker. Other than that I would recommend:
thehighroad.org thefiringline.com glocktalk.com All of these sites are vbulletin forums like this one and they all have classified postings. I have gotten several really good deals FTF here localy off of them. If you are in Texas you should also check out texasguntrader.com it has a decent amount listed there as well. |
Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Sure you can.........
And when you go to buy your pistol from the craiglist contact......as soon as you take the gun handcuffs get slapped on ya and the BATF agents jump out from behind the bushes. YOU BEEN BUSTED!!! Dont even THINK about it.......... gun laws are like a octopus tentacles trying to navigate and DESIGNED to ensnare you for peace of mind sake deal through a FFL |

Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Here in Indiana lots of guns are sold thru the Trader Paper. [a want ad newspaper]
If you live within driving distance of a major city, ask around about gun shops. Most cities have 1 or 2 dealers that sell very cheap. All the others have moderate to outrageous markups. There can be a 30% difference between the low price shops and the high dollar dealers. These low cost shops have a large volume of business and will handle a lot of used guns also. I know of the 2 cheapies in Indianapolis. Post what city you might want to shop at and maybe somebody can suggest a dealer. |
Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Gunbroker is your best bet as stated in an earlier post. There are also some manufacturer specific types of web sites such as AR15.com, HK Pro, M14 Firing Line............ where you can find specific brand related items.

Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Geesh, another foaming at the mouth post full of total inaccuracy. Come on, if you want to live in this world of yours, that's fine, but don't spew crap in a post where someone is looking for information.

Re: Craigslist for Guns?
I actually think that Craigslist does not allow the sale of guns, but I did buy a cheap used compound bow on the website the other week.

Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Nickel ads tend to have guns. There's nothing illegal about private sales without an FFL unless your state prohibits it through "gun show loophole" legistlation, or a ban on private sales. Most states do not regulate the private sale of firearms. I don't know the laws regarding interstate private sales. Know your state's laws and then check the nickel ads.

BETTER CHECK YOUR STATE LAWS.... IN VIRGINIA FRIEND TO FRIEND TRANSFERS ARE PERFECTLY LEGAL.... AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A VIRGINIA DRIVER'S LICENSE, AND ARE OF THE PROPER AGE TO OWN A RIFLE/ HANDGUN. |
Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Personally think gunbroker is a rip, i can almost ALWAYS order through a dealer cheaper then gunbroker guys are gouging. Not to mention they usually charge 3% for credit card use. in florida there is no registration, face to face transfer are perfectly legal. I still prefer to have my FFL guy do it for me. He charges e $20 for the buyers background check and transfer.

Re: Craigslist for Guns?
I ordered a brand new marlin 39a .22 rifle, and a couple of shotguns through gunbroker and got pretty good deals. The going price at least. The Marlin I couldn't find locally and my gun store couldn't order it in. Overall i'm pretty happy with gunbroker. My gunstore is kind enough that I can order guns elsewhere, have them sent to them and they won't charge me any FFL transfer fees/ paperwork fees.
Also if you order through gunbroker you save on sales tax. As opposed to buying locally. |
Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Am I the only person who uses Guns America website?
It's NOT an auction site. It's a place where people can list a firearm and find buyers. Or buyers can peruse firearms and then contact the seller. The UP side is that if you find a seller in your area and you like the price of what they have to sell, even if it IS a gun shop, you might have found a good place to do business with. If it's an individual, FTF is an easy thing to accomplish. http://www.gunsamerica.com/ I've bought AND sold firearms via Guns America. NEVER a hitch. As they are not actually involved in any aspect of selling firearms, other than listing them, they don't actually charge the selleer anything (at least they didn't used to, I haven't sold anything through them lately so I can say for sure), but they do ask for a donation and their suggestion is UP to 10% of the sale price as the seller. They don't ask the buyer for any money at all. |
Re: Craigslist for Guns?
I use gunsamerica, bought a couple things off of there.

Re: Craigslist for Guns?
Is it legal to transfer a gun registered in CA to some other state? What about shipping a gun out of the country?
